Special date for my birthday
My birthday’s 9 days from now and it makes me sad that my husband will be trapped in a project in Hong Kong for three more weeks. He’s the head architect in their company and it’s impossible for him to leave the site even if just for a couple of days. My daughter, on the other hand, is honeymooning with her new husband in Switzerland and I don’t want to ruin it. She said she’ll be able to visit me after two months…
Which now depresses me even more. It’s bad enough that I’m already in menopause, all I’d wanted was to have the perfect birthday celebration this year so as to forget all about my age. But look at me now: aging and lonely. But it’s not their fault my husband just got promoted and my lovely daughter got married—I couldn’t be more glad and excited for them. I just want to keep some celebration for myself too…
